Bagan Datoh Wanita UMNO head Aminah Abdul Manaf, 52, died at 6pm today while undergoing treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur.
The division's deputy head Khairuddin Termizi told Bernama that Aminah had been receiving treatment for heart complications at IJN for almost a month.
He said her remains were expected to be brought back to her home in Kampung Tanah Lalang, Sungai Dulang here tonight.
"The family members are now making arrangements for her body to be brought home for the funeral rites," he said.
Her remains are expected to be laid to rest at the Kampung Tanah Lalang Muslim Cemetery here.
Aminah, who was not married, was elected the division's Wanita head in 2013 and was the Senior Supervisor of the Bagan Datoh parliamentary constituency Community Development Department (KEMAS).
She became involved in politics in the early 1990s and had previously held the post of Wanita UMNO secretary in the Bagan Datoh division.
