Balingian polls: Voting centres closed, results by 8pm

The last four polling districts in the Balingian state seat by-election closed at 5pm to enable the counting of votes to begin.

17 other polling stations had been closed two hours earlier namely in the Kenyana and Ulu Bedengan districts.

The ballot boxes from the SK Kuala Kenyana Mukah polling centre arrived at the Suarah Mesra Mukah hall at 3.50pm while the ballot boxes from Ulu Bedengan arrived at 4.10pm.

Five other polling districts had closed at 3pm while another 10 at 4pm.

The Election Commission (EC) expects to announce the election results as early as 8pm on Saturday.
