Balloon explosion injures 30 at Terengganu event

At least 30 people were injured after several gas-filled balloons exploded today in Kuala Terengganu.
In the 11.30am incident at Dataran Batu Buruk, organisers of the “Walk for the Blind’ event had tried to release several tethered balloons using a cigarette lighter.
This had caused the balloons filled with hydrogen to explode.
Kuala Terengganu police have received a report on the incident were conducting an investigation, according to a BERNAMA report.
The victims were rushed to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital and were treated for burns to the face, head and hands.
