The remains of all four Malaysians who perished in the Bangkok blast will arrive home in Penang today.

Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said the bodies will arrive at the Penang International Airport at 10.20pm.

It will depart from the Suvarnabhumi International Airport on the Thai Airways Flight TG 425 and is expected to be taken to the Penang Hospital for the exchange of coffin.

The bodies of Lee Tze Siang, Lee Jiang Xuan, Lim Saw Gek and Neo Jai Jun will then be taken to their residence at Taman Cengal and Taman Dedap for their families to pay their last respect.

“Currently, all preparations have been made to take their bodies’ home to Penang. If there are no obstacles, if everything runs smoothly, (the bodies) will reach Penang tonight and all the family members have been informed,” said Reezal Merican.

Reezal Merican who is also Kepala Batas MP spent 30 minutes visiting the family of Tze Siang at Kampung Selamat here on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Reezal Merican extended his condolences and gave a donation to the family of the deceased to reduce their burden.

Tze Siang the second child of five siblings left behind a wife and a six-year-old son.

Meanwhile, Reezal Merican also reminded Malaysians planning to make a trip to Thailand to contact the Malaysian Embassy in Thailand and the operations room for the current developments.

At least 21 people were killed, including foreigners and dozens injured when a bomb exploded Monday outside a religious shrine popular with tourists in the Thai capital, scattering body parts and debris.

According to Thai police, the blast occurred at around 7pm local time (8pm Malaysian time).
