A Bangladeshi man was tonight found dead near gate B of Bukit Aman police headquarters here, believed to have been robbed and stabbed to death.
Dang Wangi police chief, ACP Zainuddin Ahmad said in the 8.30pm incident, the victim, Muzammel Hokque, 39, was believed to have been robbed after buying provisions from a supermarket and stabbed with a sharp object on the left of his abdomen.
"The initial police investigation found the victim could have been attacked at another place before he was found near Bukit Aman's gate. He probably walked for about 500 metres before collapsing.
"We suspect the victim was robbed as police did not find any money or mobile phone on the victim's body," Zainuddin told Bernama, here.
He said police were looking into the background of the victim including his workplace as well as his friends to assist in the investigation.
The body was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Zainuddin said members of the public with information on the case could contact the nearest police station.
