Bangladeshi worker fined RM500 for violating MCO 2.0

PETALING JAYA: A Bangladeshi construction worker was fined RM500, in default a day’s jail, by the Magistarte’s Court here today for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO) 2.0.
Magistrate M. Barath meted out the fine on Shahabuddin, 32, who pleaded guilty to the charge.
He was charged with violating Regulation 1 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) (No. 8) Regulations 2020 by moving from Jalan Teknologi 3/6, Kota Damansara to the Kota Damansara Toll Plaza at 2.10 pm last Jan 13 to visit a friend.
Shahabuddin was driving a car and was stopped at a roadblock at the Kota Damansara Toll Plaze, where he could not produce any authorisation letter for the travel.
