Bank Rakyat will extend its Penuhi Impian campaign to next year as a token of appreciation for the support from customers of its financing products, said Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar.

He said RM500,000 will be allocated for the campaign, which was launched in January this year, with the aim of fulfilling the customers' dreams and aspirations which have been deferred by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"This year, the allocation provided is RM500,000 and contributions are given according to their needs. This is Bank Rakyat's measure to fulfil their hopes and dreams and as a sign of appreciation for their patronage," he told reporters after the prize-giving ceremony for the first Penuhi Impian campaign.

Prizes were presented to 22 selected customers who took up the cooperative bank's Personal Financing-i, Home Financing-i and Vehicle Financing-i products during the campaign period of Jan 1 to March 31, 2022.

Meanwhile, Noh also instructed Bank Rakyat to speed up the loan application process for potential customers.

"I have asked the bank to review the loan application approval process right up to funds disbursement so that (the entire process) can be shortened. I believe all financing products have had their respective targets set," he said.

Meanwhile, Bank Rakyat acting chief executive officer Dr Mohammad Hanis Osman said the three-month Penuhi Impian campaign will be extended due to the encouraging response from customers.

"The campaign, launched on Jan 1, received more than 1,000 entries during its duration," he said.
