The defamation suit filed by the Barisan Nasional's (BN) coordinator for the Batu Kawan partliamentary constituency A. Mohan against two aides of Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy, namely
M.Satees and M.Amal Dass, has been settled out of court.
Penang High Court judge GV. Varghese today recorded the settlement after Mohan, Satees and Amal Dass agreed to do so (reach and out of court settlement).
Under the terms of settlement made available by the defendants, Satees and Amal Dass admitted issuing statements defamatory to Mohan at a press conference held at Ramasamy's service centre in Taman Supreme on Sept 3, 2011.
However, the duo claimed no malice was intended and unreservedly apologised if the statements had hurt Mohan's feelings.
Mohan was represented by lawyers Baljit Singh and V.Amareson while lawyer S.Murali acted for Satees and Amal Dass.
