Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin has condemned controversial sex blogger Alvin Tan for posting a video mocking the azan or the Muslim call to prayer.
Sim, who is also PKR strategy director described Tan's action as an act of extremism as the post does not only insult Muslims, but also instigate religious hatred.
"The fact that he has done these several times, just proved his evil intention. These acts of instigation and creating hatred among different religions have no place in a multiracial and multi-religion society.
"His action will also put bad name on non-Muslims that non-Muslims are insensitive towards Islam. I must stress that the vast majority of non-Muslims respect the sanctity of the azan and Islam as religion," he said in a statement, Tuesday.
Sim added Tan is just one of the few instigators that do not represent the non-Muslims in Malaysia.

Sim urged all Muslims and non-Muslim to remain calm and focused on more pressing issues, besides not falling into the traps of those extremists.

The two-minute-and-50-second clip posted on his Facebook page features a footage of himself topless with a pair of sunglasses and topless, reciting his version of the azan playing the keyboard.
