Be wary of cheap Umrah packages, buy from registered agents only

Muslims going for Umrah are urged to be careful with agents offering Umrah packages at below RM5,000, to prevent fraud.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said they should only purchase from travel and tour companies or travel agencies which are registered with Tabung Haji and the Tourism Ministry.

"The public should be wary of any travel agency offering Umrah packages for less than RM5,000. It is unfortunate that many are still being duped by these irresponsible travel agencies.

"I hope from now on Malaysians going for Umrah, especially people from Sarawak will be more careful," the Petra Jaya MP said when opening the Kuching branch of TM Tours and Travel here today.
