Behind the Wheel recap

You’ve watched them race around town in a pair of hot-hatches, throw an everyday SUV into the jungle and drive classics down to a historical city. Now relive the action. By Jerrica Leong

Astro Digital Publication’s first ever web show has finally come to an end, but it doesn’t mean that if you’ve missed it you couldn’t catch it all over again. All you need to do is head on over to behindthewheel.my and you will get to relive all the action that the crew will bring to you.

Unique is the word that comes to mind when it comes to the series, Behind the Wheel is all about letting you see through the eyes of those driving the cars with the host Donald Cheah, or better known as DC in our world.

But let’s recap on what happened through the episodes.

Episode One had brought everyone on a food truck hunting adventure with two hot-hatches, the Renault Megane and Volkswagen Golf GTI. DC had brought in racing driver Ivan Khong to tell us about what it is like living with the Megane and the Golf. Michelle Lee and Vanessa Chong were the drivers of the day while DC and Ivan Khong played the role of navigators. Did you know that there were so many food trucks available around the capital before you watch the show? Well, our guests certainly didn’t and they enjoyed zooming around the city in hot-hatches to find out.

Episode Two has DC and his guests Jay Menon and Lionel heading off the road and onto the trails in an SUV. The Ford Kuga is a two-wheel drive urban SUV that is capable of some light-offroading fun. Many people has forgotten that SUVs are essentially build to have the ability to go off-road and DC and the Behind the Wheel crew were happy to remind everybody of their unique capabilities.

The third episode had everybody jumping into a time machine, in the form of a Volvo 122S wagon, to learn about the classics. Most of us, like DC, do not know what goes into restoring and retaining these classics and Behind the Wheel had given us a slight inkling. DC even took the time to marvel about driving a car that was created the same year he was born and see for himself just what cars were like back in the days where technology meant a push of the button to turn on wipers!
