Bersih 3.0: Batu MP Tian Chua ordered to enter defence

The Sessions Court here Monday ordered the Batu Member of Parliament, Chua Tian Chang or known as Tian Chua to enter his defence on the charge of disobeying a police order to move away from a restricted area at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol), one day after the Bersih 3.0 assembly.
Judge Mahmud Abdullah made the decision after the prosecution succeeded in proving the case prima facie against Tian Chua, at the conclusion of the prosecution's case.
The court set two days for hearing beginning Nov 29.
Tian Chua, 49, was charged with disobeying the order issued by Deputy Superintendent A. Rajakopal to move away from the Pulapol area which was declared a restricted area under the Protected Areas Order 1975.
Tian Chua, who is also the vice-president of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is alleged to have committed the offence in Pulapol, Jalan Semarak at 2.30 am on April 29.
