Bersih 4: Dr Mahathir rumoured to make another appearance at rally

AS the Bersih 4 rally enters its second day, it is believed that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who made a surprise appearance in Dataran Merdeka last night would once again attend this evening.

Whether Dr Mahathir would indeed make another appearance today, could not be confirmed by sources close to him.

This speculation comes following his earlier appearance at Dataran Merdeka yesterday. During the brief visit at 7.25pm, Dr Mahathir was accompanied by his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali.

There is, however a possibility that he may not attend the demonstration after all.

His appearance at the rally yesterday attracted the buzz from not only participants of the unlawful rally but also the social media.

When asked for the reason behind his decision to attend the rally, the veteran political was caustic in his reply as he said, 'he came just to see the situation'.

Nevertheless, his appearance has sparked criticisms from several UMNO leaders.

Among them is UMNO supreme council member Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman who said Mahathir had no place in the next party's annual convention.
