No arrests have been made following an alleged provocation by the Red Shirt supporters during the convoy of Bersih 5 activists in Lumut, Perak today.
Manjung police chief, ACP Mohd Zailan Tengku Tengku Ahmad Shah said they have not received any report on the matter.
"We haven't received any report on the supposed incident, so no arrests have been made," he said when contacted today.
He added that the convoy ran smoothly with the police having things under control.
An online news portal today reported that human rights activist, Ivy Josiah, as saying a Red Shirt supporter, who was driving a car, had got out of his vehicle and circled the car Josiah was travelling in with several others, in an apparent move to intimidate.
The report said however, Josiah and the rest remained calm and stayed inside their car, later driving around the man's car before proceeding with their journey to Teluk Intan.
Josiah was reportedly travelling in a car with Batu MP Tian Chua, his driver and Meera Samanther, president of the Association of Women Lawyers.
Police had kept Red Shirts supporters and Bersih activists apart at the flag-off ceremony of the Bersih 5 convoy at Lumut Jetty today. But when the convoy took to the road, the Red Shirts went after the convoy, which consisted of some 12 vehicles draped in Bersih flags.
Josiah also reportedly said that some 40 Red Shirt supporters on motorcycles and cars had yelled and screamed at the convoy occupants, and pulling off the flags on their cars.
