Best Dressed at the SAG Awards
Awards season is upon us and for the SAG Awards the red carpet basically had an astonishing gown in every colour! Starting with the always fabulous Sofía Vergara in a sizzling red Donna Karan number and finishing with a glowing Keira Knightley in a stunning purple Erdem frock. There was also a brilliant blue Giambattista Valli gown worn by Julianna Margulies and a dazzling green Givenchy dress donned by SAG Award Winner Julianne Moore.
We noticed that there was a myriad of royal purple gowns, as worn to perfection by Camila Alves, Keira Knightley and Elizabeth Rodriguez. Camila's Donna Karan Atelier gave just the right amount of sex appeal, while the dress' velvety texture and deep plum colour added a statement twist to her ensemble.
Keira Knightley in Erdem! Well, let’s face it, purple is challenging on awards night and so is being pregnant. This tiered gown, with cutouts made the dress airy and the peplum offered ample baby-bump cover-up. Smokey eye makeup and loose waves were the perfect touches to the expectant mom's look.
Reese Witherspoon’s white custom Armani gown will make you fall in love with her all over again! If Reese’s look didn’t do the trick, the How to Get Away With Murder star in gorgeous Max Mara will definitely get you back on board with the white gown trend.
Other looks to lust over include sheer overlay gowns, which stars including Sarah Hyland, Emma Stone and Emmy Rossum rocked on the red carpet.
Emma Stone's tuxedo-style Dior gown proved that a simple menswear-gone-sexy look can steal the spotlight during awards season. The Birdman nominee showed off her legs in a vampy black Dior Couture tuxedo-inspired ensemble with a sheer skirt that displayed a pair of peep-toe Christian Louboutin heels. Diamond Repossi ear cuffs and a bright red lip added more edge. Possibly her best awards look yet this year; the modified smoking jacket with a sheer underlay was simple yet tremendously elegant.
Emmy Rossum's breath-taking Armani Privé gown proved that sheer overlay dresses are not only chic, but timeless to boot. True glitz and glamour from the Shameless star!
Cleavage was clearly a thing at this year’s SAG Awards, with Julia Roberts, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Jennifer Aniston taking the plunge. The low-neckline look is sexy without being overstated, which is why it's a craze we expect to see on the rise at the awards shows to come. Jennifer Aniston was wearing the sexiest gown on the red carpet – for once that title didn’t go to Miss Vergara. Nope, this time we are giving it to the Cake star for her plunging vintage Galliano gown. The actress added sparkle with Fred Leighton jewels and an Amrit black diamond body chain.
Since it’s Awards season, so obviously there's going to be some intense gam-action on the carpet (always remember Angelina Jolie's right leg).
We couldn’t take our eyes off sexy thigh-high slits, whether it was Sophia Bush in a tomato-hued Vivienne Westwood frock, Julianna Margulies in a billowing Giambattista Valli Couture gown or Irish actress Caitriona Balfe in a tangerine-coloured confection.
The Good Wife star, Julianna Margulies wowed in her cobalt Giambattista Valli gown and was downright show-stopping.
One word describes all the appliqué appearances on the 2015 SAG Awards red carpet: Glamorous!! Julie Bowen (in Georges Hobeika) and Julianne Moore (in Givenchy) not only made the best dressed list, but their appliqué-adorned gowns were eye-catching and were lust-worthy style statements.
SAG winner Julianne Moore sparkled in a body-hugging emerald green gown. Loose, beachy waves and simple, classic makeup finished her look.
