ASYRAF: "I advise the public to not easily overreact with what is promoted by DAP as it will trigger instability in the country."
Do not follow DAP's 'tap and dance' on the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) (Amendment) Bill 2016 that was tabled by PAS at the Dewan Rakyat on May 26, said Prime Minister's Department Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
Asyraf Wajdi said the bill only involved the empowerment of the Syariah Court, and not the Hudud punishment.
"I advise the public to not follow what is being promoted by them as it will build an air of animosity among each other in this country.
"I advise the public to not easily overreact with what is promoted by DAP as it will trigger instability in the country," he said after launching the Taawun Squad Programme and Ihya Ramadhan at the Kelantan state level, at the Maktab Rendah Sains MARA Hall in Pasir Tumboh here, on Friday.
Previously, the DAP leadership had strongly opposed bills related to the party as it allegedly opened the pathway to the implementation of Hudud in this country.
Commenting on the Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties, specifically in Kelantan, Asyraf Wajdi said the Kelantan UMNO Liaison Committee will soon give a briefing to the representatives of the component parties.
He also expressed his confidence that his friends in the BN components will understand more clearly after getting enough information.
