Unusual-looking clouds, which appeared like rolling waves were seen in Langkap, some 18 kilometres from Teluk Intan this morning.

The clouds appeared at about 7am followed by strong winds and rain for almost three hours.

The unusual-looking clouds had caused quite a stir in the town, with many locals stopped by the road sides to take photos and sharing them on social media.

Perak Meteorology Department officer when contacted told Astro AWANI that the phenomenon was nothing bizarre and a usual process of cloud forming.

He also advised the locals to stay calm and said that the cloud formation was due to strong winds and would usually disappear after several hours.

Meanwhile, Bernama reported that several locals in the area had expressed their shock and disbelief over the incident.

Chui Chak village head, Yeap Lai Hock said he and several other locals were cleaning up the hall in the village when they witnessed the clouds formation.

"We were very excited and took photos," he said.

Yap said, shortly after that, the sky turned dark and it poured heavily for an hour.

He said in his 54 years living in Langkap, he has never seen such a phenomenon.

Rasimah Mohd Syad, 50, said she was in Langkap market when it took place.

"I have never seen anything like this. I was surprised to see the clouds like that," she said.
