A BMW i8 for the grand prize

After announcing that they would be the Official Automotive Partner of the CIMB Classic 2015 by deploying a fleet of BMW 5 Series and X5s for the event, BMW Group Malaysia is also proud to give away the grand prize in the form of a BMW i8.

American golfer Scott Brown finds himself the new owner of a brand new BMW i8 after scoring a Hole-in-One on the 199-yard, par 3 on the 15th hole with a six-iron on the first day of the CIMB Classic 2015.

The BMW i8 was launched earlier this year and retails at RM1,188,800.00. It is the first premium plug-in hybrid sports car in the world built from Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic and houses and powered by award winning 1.5-litre three-cylinder combustion engine with Electric Motors. The i8 has the ability to sprint from 0-100kph in 4.4 seconds while only consuming 2.5-litres per 100km of fuel and emits only 5.9g/km of CO2.

But the i8 wasn’t the only car present at the CIMB Classic 2015. BMW has also brought their BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, the newly CKD-ed BMW X6 and the recently launched BMW X1 sDrive 20i.

David Owen, the Head of Marketing of BMW Group Malaysia did the honours of presenting the all-new i8 to the Hole-in-One winner Scott Brown.
