BMW unleashes a Super 7 series

BMW is proud to introduce to the world the new M Performance TwinPower Turbo 12-cylinder petrol engine, a 6.6-litre V12 engine that develops a provisional 600bhp at 5500rpm and a peak-torque of 800Nm at 1500rpm. Expect the M760Li xDrive to make that century sprint in just 3.9 seconds and to a limited top speed of 305kph if you have the optional M Driver’s Package installed that is. If you don’t the M760Li is electronically limited at 250kph so in other words, BMW is not revealing just how capable the new engine is. That epic V12 engine is mated to a state of the art eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission with M Performance specific tuning of the shift program. BMW claims that the Steptronic delivers sportier gear changes and more instantaneous downshifts throughout the rev range. More has been done to specifically adapt the eight-speed transmission to the characteristics of the V12 engine.

Something else that BMW has modified is the innovative Executive Drive Pro suspension system that would give the limo that dynamic sharpness and unbeatable ride comfort that is a hallmark of the brand. Active roll stabilisation will help minimise body movements, this will work with the 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in matt Cerium Grey metallic to give the car the best driving dynamics without impinging on ride comfort. The M760i has a rear biased BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system that will distribute power to all four wheels as the situation demands. Expect the dynamic excellence you would expect from an M Performance model and a supreme level of performance for all conditions.

Integral Active Steering system comes as standard in the M760i, the system benefits from active safety and driving dynamics complementing the more direct steering ratio to reduce steering effort at low speeds and further enhancing agility and active safety. Other than the improvements made for the drive, the M760i xDrive also has all the same M Performance accents for the interior to remind you that you’re sitting in a BMW that has been put through the M treatment. You get stuff like Pearl Gloss Chrome multifunction buttons on its spokes and shift paddles, door sill plates with an illuminated V12 logo and an instrument cluster that contains an exclusive speedo featuring the model designation.

This is sounding like one 7 Series that you don’t want to just sit back and relax while somebody navigates away up front. It’s a luxury limo that you want to drive it yourself!
