Barisan Nasional (BN) will conduct a post mortem involving the party’s performance in the 13th General Election (GE13) this July.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the survey will involve BN won areas as well as areas where it was defeated with a slim majority.
Improvements will be made by outlining the strategies and actions to be taken including the areas it has won.
“This is important because we analyse (the results) so that we can outline the strategies and that step is essential. We choose the areas that we won, we want to defend the areas that we won and with a small majority... how we can improve on the areas that we lost, why we lost, what issues and how do we face the future.
“A lot of things can be explained one by one because that’s the party’s secret... but the strategy that we want most is to defend our position,” said Muhyiddin to reporters during a press conference in gratitude of BN’s victory in Johor.
He said among the things that will be addressed include issues voiced by the voters and problems related to development.

This includes the ‘negative perception of the government’ raised by social media practitioners.
Meanwhile, Muhyiddin said it was too early to comment on the proposal to have Umno's top positions to be left uncontested in the coming party elections.
He said Umno is a democratic political party and belongs to its members and not to a certain individual.
