JOHOR BAHRU: The five pledges made by the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition through its manifesto dubbed 'Ikhtiar BN Johor' are doable and not just promises to win the people's hearts, said BN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
He said the manifesto was the efforts made by BN to develop the well-being and economy of Johorians.
"It is a doable effort, not just promises to win the people's hearts, to woo them but in the end, we fail, so this (the manifesto) is our efforts to re-build Johor which has fallen far behind," he said during a press conference after the launch of BN manifesto for the Johor state election at the Johor UMNO liaison committee building, today.
He said Johor was once the leader in the country's economic growth, unfortunately, the state was affected by political uncertainties and instability after 2018.
Mohamad, who is also Johor state election director hoped that the manifesto would be conveyed to the people of Johor as well as help the new state government to continue working and stabilise the political situation in the state which would then prosper its people.
Asked to comment about the Johor polls campaign which has entered the fourth day today, Mohamad said he was satisfied with the organised and focused work movement implemented by the BN election machinery.
He also urged the machinery to continue with their hard work until the polling day on March 12 to ensure loyal BN voters would cast their ballots.
"On the fourth day after the nomination day, I went to the ground in many areas and I am satisfied...there are no issues that are of concern or that could disrupt the course of our campaign at the moment," he said.
BN launched its manifesto for the Johor polls earlier today that contains five pledges comprising economic growth, people's wellbeing, the youth of Johor, governance with integrity and political reforms.
Johor BN chairman Datuk Hasni Mohammad said the five pledges were to achieve and support the main goals of Johor BN in making Johor a prosperous state backed up by a new, mature and stable political narrative.
