The Barisan Nasional (BN) is not a power crazy government, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said.
He said BN believes in the concept of democracy that allows the rakyat to make decision every five years once,” he said at the Sejiwa Senada programme at Limbang Sports Complex today.
Najib said the people of Sarawak must retain the current administration, led by Adenan’s team in the 11th state election to guarantee a better tomorrow.
Also present at the programme were Sarawak chief minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem and wife Puan Seri Jamilah Anu.
About 20,000 people attended the programme.
He also called on Sarawakians not to be easily duped or influenced by the immature politics practiced by the Opposition.
"A DAP leader said GST will be increased from the current 6 per cent to 10 per cent if BN wins the election,” he said.
“These are just lies to the people,” Najib stressed.
Sarawak state DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen was quoted earlier saying that the GST rate would be increased by at least 10 per cent following a drop in government revenue after the price of global oil dropped tremendously.
