Boat capsize: SAR operation in Belaga continues to find remaining victim

The search-and-rescue (SAR) operation to find another victim of a capsized long boat in Long Buyun, Belaga, resumed at 9 am Friday.
Belaga district police chief, DSP Melay Tingom, when contacted, said the victim who remained missing was 15-year-old Sumitasen Thomas.
"Today's SAR operation is being carried out by 55 people, comprising 14 policemen, four members of the Fire and Rescue Department's Air Unit, 17 members of the Bintulu Fire and Rescue Station, seven auxiliary policemen from the Bakun Hydro Dam, 10 members of the Civil Defence Department and three Rela members," he said.
Yesterday, the SAR operation managed to find the bodies of Adriana Rosnah, 12, and Nur Amirsha, four.
The body of Nur Amirsha's mother, Sahirza Mahir, 31, of Sipitang, Sabah, was found on Wednesday morning.
In the 7pm incident on Dec 22, a long boat carrying nine people - a man and eight women - which was on its way home from Belaga to Rumah Tanjung in Long Pawah, capsized at Long Buyun.
Five of the victims, a man and four women, survived but four female victims went missing.
