Bodies of two siblings found near Sungai Langat

The bodies of two siblings who disappeared while fishing at the Sungai Langat near Kampung Bukit Raya , Hulu Langat on Wednesday, were found Friday morning.

Kajang Fire and Rescue Station head Ariff Mohamed Kassim said the body of Mohammad Tarmizi Azahari , 13 was found at 7.46am about one kilometre from the spot where he and his elder brother Mohammad Syawal, 17, were believed to have drowned.

“Mohammad Syawal’s body was found at the Syabas water treatment plant about 15 minutes later by a search and rescue team,” he said.

In the incident, both siblings were reported to have gone fishing with a group of friends at about 4pm.

Mohammad Tarmizi was reported to have had a difficulty while bathing, which promped Mohammad Syawal, who was then fishing, to jump into the river to rescue his younger brother but both were swept off by the strong current.
