Body of drowning victim at Sungai Aring recovered

The body of one of two men involved in the tragic boat mishap at Sungai Ladang, Aring 10, Gua Musang yesterday has been recovered.

Mohd Nor Abdul Rahman’s body was found at around 4pm by rescue personnel and sent to the Gua Musang hospital for a post mortem and to be claimed by his family members.

In the 9.20pm incident Friday, the victim, together with Nasrul Hafiz Shahrudin, 29, fell into the river and were swept away by strong currents.

The boat they were travelling in is believed to have hit a rock.

The search operation involving the police, Fire and Rescue Department and the Civil Defence Department continues for the second victim.
