The body of a man who was feared drowned after he was swept away by strong currents while searching for river stones at Sungai Kenerong in Dabong, Kuala Krai yesterday, was found today.
Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohamad Hanif Che Khalid when contacted said the body of Zamri Abdullah, 44, was found by firemen at 11.35am stuck in the rocks near where he was reported to have gone missing.
In the incident at 2pm yesterday, the victim had gone to the river with his wife and brother to look for stones to line the grave of his mother, who died three days earlier.
Zamri was suddenly swept away by the strong currents but his wife and brother managed to save themselves.
