The Fire and Rescue Department has recovered the body of a man believed to have taken his own life by jumping off the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Bridge near Batu Maung.
The body of 38-year-old Sukri Saad was found at 9.02am about one nautical mile from where he was believed to have jumped.
The body has been sent to Sungai Bakap Hospital for an autopsy.
In the Tuesday incident, the fire department said they received a distress call at about 8.40am after a patrolman saw an abandoned motorbike at Kilometre 11.3 on the bridge.
The department launched a search and rescue operation for the man soon after.
