The body of a new born baby girl, with a note attached, was found in the compound of a surau at Precinct 9 here last night.
The note, which was hand written, requested the congregation at the surau to carry out the necessary funeral rites on the baby.
Putrajaya police chief ACP Rosly Hassan said the baby, with the umbilical cord still intact, and wrapped with newspaper, a towel and blue jersey, was found in a bag on a shoe rack at Surau Abu Bakar As-Siddiq in Precinct 9 at about 8.30 pm.
A recording of a closed-circuit television camera in the area revealed a man placing the bag, but his image was not clear, he said when contacted.
He said the body had been sent to Putrajaya Hospital for post mortem. -- Bernama
