Body of second drowning victim found in Melaka canal

MELAKA: The search and rescue (SAR) operation for two drowning victims in Kampung Gelam, Tanjung Keling, here was called off after the second body was found at 9.35 am today.
Melaka Fire and Rescue Department operations management head Zulkhairani Ramli said the body of Badrul Azhan Nizam Bachik, 9, was found near that of the first victim, Muhammad Fakhrullah Rozami, 9.
He said Muhmmad Fakhrullah's body was recovered at 8 pm yesterday.
"The SAR team changed strategy by searching from land and in the water when operations resumed at 7 am today," he said in a statement.
The two boys went missing while playing in the canal with Muhammad Fakhrullah's twin brother Muhammad Fakruddin yesterday afternoon.
