Police confirmed today that the body of a man found floating in Sungai Klang near the Sunway toll plaza on Saturday is that of the suspected killer of little Siti Soffea Emelda.
"This is based on the analysis of his fingerprints by the police criminal record division," said Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Zainuddin Ahmad, when contacted by Bernama today.
Witnesses saw the man brutally smashing the head of the toddler aged two years and six months, with an object as she lay on the ground near the Sungai Klang next to the Kuala Lumpur commuter station at Jalan Hishamuddin here.
When they went to confront the suspect, he fled and jumped into the river.
The victim's remains, with her head severed was recovered at the scene.
The suspect is believed to have been released from the Kajang prison on May 26 after serving two years' jail for robbery.
