The body of a ferry worker who fell into the sea near the Kuala Perlis jetty was found at noon today.
According to authorities, Firdaus Mohamad Zulkifli's body was found not far from where he was last seen.
A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said the body of the 20-year old was found drowned in the mud.
The victim, who hails from Baling, Kedah, is believed to have slipped and fallen from the ferry while on duty at 9.46pm on Tuesday.
The victim's friends on board the ferry noticed his disappearance after they heard him fell into the sea about five minutes after the ferry took off from the jetty.
His friends jumped into the ocean to rescue him but their search turned futile.
The authorities were then alerted and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) mobilised its team.
