The Government expects to create near 30,000 new jobs this year and reduce unemployment to 3.2 percent, the lowest rate in the region, said today Bolivia's Labor Minister Gonzalo Trigoso.
'The unemployment rate reaches 4.1 percent and the Economic and Social Development Plan has policies seeking to reduce unemployment,' he said.
According to Trigoso, the new labour plan will be publicly known, while highlighting that the prospects are appealing because there are several projects.
In August 2016 President Evo Morales expressed his concern, taking into account that unemployment rose from 3.5 to 4.4 percent in the last two years and urged his cabinet to seek a solution and see how, where and why this situation occurred.
However, in 2005, one year before the beginning of Evo Morales' first term, the unemployment rate in Bolivia exceeded 8.1 percent.
