Bomb scare for visitors at KLCC Tower 2

Visitors to the Kuala Lumpur City Centre's (KLCC) Tower 2 today, were momentarily stunned by the discovery of four rucksacks which were initially thought to contain bomb-like objects.
Fortunately, they turned out to be nothing more than men's clothes.
A check by Bernama revealed the bags were discovered by the auxiliary police at the side of the building between the main entrance to Suria KLCC and Tower 2, about 10.30am.
At the same time, bomb disposal unit (BDU) personnel in armoured suits from the Dang Wangi police headquarters arrived at the scene to examine the bags.
Consequently, the BDU carried out a procedure to blow up the bags at 1.45pm outside the tower.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad confirmed there were no explosives in the bags.
"All four bags contained only clothes and did not have any bomb as was suspected," he said when contacted by Bernama today.
Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Khiruddin Drahman said the department received a distress call from the auxiliary police at 12.35pm.
"A team of fire and rescue department personnel from the Keramat station and a Hazmat (Hazardous Material) unit were rushed to the scene after receiving the call."
