Boy, 6, dies after fall from third floor window

A six-year-old boy died after falling from the window of his home on the third storey, Block B, of the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jalan Kebun teachers quarters in Section 33 here, yesterday.

Shah Alam district police chief, ACP Shafien Mamat said in the 5pm incident, Muhammad Syafiq Shyahmi Mohammad Sauffi is believed to have toppled and fallen after climbing onto a table placed next to the window which had no grille.

"The victim had been playing in the living room and the family was not aware that he had climbed onto a coffee table placed by the window," Shafien said in a statement today.

He said the victim's skull was seriously fractured and the child was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was later sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang.

The case has been classified as sudden death, he said. - BERNAMA
