Boy drowns after falling into pond in Kuala Nerang

A 10-year-old boy was found drowned after he slipped and fell into a pond in Kubang Bembam, Kuala Nerang, near here yesterday.

Padang Terap police chief DSP Ahmad Nasir Jaafar said the body of Muhammad Aidil Hazimi Bonyamin was sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital.

"According to the victim's father, his son had gone to the pond with friends at 3.30pm for a dip.

"The victim fell and drowned at about 4pm," he told Bernama when contacted.

Ahmad Nasir said the police had classified the case as sudden death. -- BERNAMA
