A Standard Two pupil today learned that one can get stuck while trying to do a good deed. Literally.
The eight-year-old boy from SK Batu Belah in Klang, was trying to help retrieve his friend's pocket money – a RM1 note – which had fell into a grilled drain at school.
The boy lowered himself via an opening and tried to edge his way through the drain. But he got stuck shortly after.
He was stuck for 15 minutes.
Sungai Pinang Fire and Rescue Department senior assistant fire superintendent, Zaidi Ahtan said, the boy panicked when he couldn't get out.
"When they couldn't get the boy out, the school management then contacted us for assistance.
"Upon arrival, we managed to pull out the grill covering the drain and the victim was released a few minutes later," he told Astro AWANI when contacted.
The boy didn't sustain any injury. He also failed to retrieve the RM1 note.
