Police arrested a woman, believed to be the biological mother of the boy who was allegedly forced to consume syabu by her boyfriend.
The woman involved was arrested at 1.30pm this afternoon at Taman Gurun Jaya in Gurun before being taken to the district police headquarters in Kuala Muda.
She was later brought together with the child to Sultan Abdul Halim Sungai Petani Hospital to collect her blood and urine samples.
The woman and the child tested negative for drugs.
Through earlier investigations, the woman said her motive of doing so was to hurt her ex-husband.
She claimed, the pipe held by the boy in the viral video was actually empty and did not contain any drug substance.
Kedah CID chief, SAC Mior Farid Al Atrash Wahid said, the woman was not remanded as she is currently eight months pregnant.
However, police are on pursuit of the boyfriend.
The victim’s 53-year-old grandmother lodged a police report after watching seven video recordings of her grandson allegedly being forced to consume drugs.
The grandmother also wanted to claim guardianship of her grandson as she feared for his safety.
The video clips went viral on social media on Monday.
