Recipients of the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) who have issues with the payment being directly credited into their bank accounts have been asked to refer to Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) and not to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
Deputy Finance Minister II Datuk Chua Tee Yong said in doing so, the recipients need only to bring the letter issued by the government and their identity card as reference.
He said the ministry was informed that over 100,000 BR1M recipients did not receive the payment even after the second phase of BR1M distribution last May.
"The ministry has sent them the letters saying that their applications for BR1M have been approved.
"However, due to incorrect account information, (the money cannot be credited) they have to refer to any BSN branches," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby here on Tuesday.
