The breakdown at two pump houses that led to water disruption around the capital city since Dec 29 has been fixed, enabling them to resume operation, according to Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas).
Its Corporate Affairs and Public Relations Assistant General Manager Priscilla Alfred said water supply was expected to resume in stages to all the affected areas in five days.
She said repair works at the Wangsa Maju pump house were completed around 11.45am last night, while the Pudu Hulu Baru was settled around 5am.
Both pump houses have resumed operation, but the Wangsa Maju pump house was operating at lower capacity with 170 million liters per day (JLH), compared to the normal capacity of more than 200JLH, she said in a statement here Thursday.
Priscilla said to facilitate residents of the affected areas, Syabas had provided 40 water tankers and located 174 static water tanks to the area involved.
