Budget 2014: Musa welcomes PM's assurance on fulfilling Sabah's requests
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman welcomed the assurance of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in meeting most of the requests for Sabah in the 2014 Budget on Friday. He believed the 2014 Budget would take into consideration Sabahans' welfare and interest as it is the second largest state in the country. "We, Sabahans know the Prime Minister is aware and he will be our hope for substantial funds to be allocated to Sabah as this is the second largest state in Malaysia," he told reporters here today. Musa, who is also the state Finance Minister, hoped the large allocation would stimulate more development projects being implemented to improve facilities for the people's wellbeing in Sabah. Earlier, he opened the Road Day Convention organised by the Sabah Works Department which was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister cum State Infrastructure Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan. Najib, who is also the Finance Minister, when opening the 28th Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Annual General Assembly yesterday said the federal government would continue to consider increasing allocations for Sabah especially for facility and infrastructure development. Najib was quoted as saying the government would be giving attention to empowering the economy of Bumiputras including minority Bumiputras in Sabah and Sarawak.
