Budget 2021 for Ministry of Transport passed at committee stage

KUALA LUMPUR:Budget 2021 for the Ministry of Transport has been passed at the committee stage today.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun announced the matter after the majority of MPs gave their support through a bloc vote.
"This is the result, 109 MPs agree, 94 (MPs) do not agree and another 17 MPs are not present," he said in the Parliament session.
The decision was made after the Dewan Rakyat was adjourned for 10 minutes as more than 15 MPs stood up to ask for the bloc voting to be conducted.
Just before that, former Transport Minister Anthony Loke was heard saying "Datuk Speaker, I am asking for a bloc vote because the minister did not answer the question."
Earlier, the ministry's winding up session was made by its minister, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The Ministry of Transport has been allocated RM6.05 billion in the Budget 2021 with an increase of 67.47 per cent compared to this year.
Operating expenditure involves RM1.88 billion while development expenditure amounts to RM4.17 billion.
