PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the government will announce certain initiatives in the presentation of the 2021 Budget scheduled for November 6.
He said the initiatives will ease the burden of the people in facing difficult situations at this time.
In this regard, he said, the government will provide various allocations to government agencies, assistance to the people and incentives to the corporate, industrial and business sectors in facing COVID-19 and reviving the national economy.
"I hope all MPs can set aside political differences to ensure the 2021 Budget is passed for the benefit of the people and the country.
"Let us put the interests of the people above all other interests.
"A form of understanding can be drafted among MPs to enable the 2021 Budget to be passed with the support of government and opposition MPs," he said in a special televised message on the current situation of COVID-19 here on Saturday.
In the meantime, Muhyidin said, he also expressed assurance that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government will continue to find the best ways to manage the big crisis we are facing at this time.
"Our only goal is to win in the fight against COVID-19 and ensure the safety and welfare of the people are always protected," he said.
