Bukit Aman will present letters of appreciation to two mobile patrol vehicle (MPV) unit personnel who performed their duties well by detaining a senior police officer for flouting the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) at an entertainment outlet in Kelana Jaya, Selangor, yesterday.
Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department director Datuk Zainal Abidin Kasim said the firmness shown by the two policemen in ensuring the compliance with RMCO regardless of rank and position should be emulated by all members.
"I want to give letters of appreciation to my personnel for being firm and arriving quickly at the location. This is the attitude that I want all MPV team personnel to have regardless of rank," he told reporters after witnessing the handing over of duties ceremony of the Perak police chief here today.
Yesterday, a 39-year-old-officer, attached to a district police headquarters in Selangor, was among the 227 people detained in operations to check on compliance with the RMCO in Petaling Jaya.
Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said that the officer was arrested at about 3 am at an entertainment centre in Kelana Jaya after preventing members of the MPV unit from carrying out RMCO monitoring duties.
Earlier, Perak deputy police chief Datuk Goh Boon Keng has been promoted as the new Perak police chief replacing Datuk Razarudin who has been appointed as Bukit Aman Narcotic Crimes Investigation Department (NCID) director.
