Bukit Beruntung landslip, residents prepare to evacuate

The wrath of Mother Nature befall an approximately 2,000 residents of Teratai Apartment at Taman Bunga Raya, Rawang after the area was inundated with continuous torrential rain early Monday morning.
The continuous rain is believed to have caused the loosening of soil that inevitably led to a landslide near Block K and Block L of the residential area.
Joint Management Committee President, Suhaili Abdul said, the Public Works Department is in the midst of examining the intensity of the incident in order to facilitate repair works.
“Fellow residents detected landslide nearby Block L of the apartment. Currently, the Fire and Rescue Department as well as Public Works Department are stationed at the scene to safeguard the area," said Suhaili.
Suhaili added that similar incident has happened four years ago. Concerned of the safety of residents, it has become a huge concern of the folks in the area.
Block K and L residents have been ordered to evacuate their homes to the temporary evacuee centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Bunga Raya as a precautionary measure while investigativion and recovery efforts take place.
At Press time, residents are preparing for evacuation process. No casualties, however have been reported.
