Bukit Gelugor independent candidate Abu Backer Sidek Mohamad Zan today stirred up drama at the Penang state legislative assembly when he pretended to be hit by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s car.
The incident reportedly occurred after the MP hopeful failed to meet Lim after waiting for the latter for about half an hour.
Abu Backer had then reportedly tried to intercept the car, which carried Lim during lunch break, and when confronted by security officers, he then proceeded to ram himself into the car.
He apparently held his ribs and complained of being in pain.
However, Lim and his driver moved away from the scene, ignoring the antics of the man, who laid still in the middle of the road for some 15 minutes.

An ambulance reached the scene at about 2.30pm to bring the lawyer to the Penang Hospital.
Before this incident, Abu Backer had reportedly cried in a media conference, claiming that he was disappointed that he did not get enough media coverage.
