Bukit Jalil Deepavali carnival to be launched tomorrow
The Deepavali Carnival 2012 at the Bukit Jalil Sports Complex has a lot to offer to shoppers.
Shoppers will be spoilt for choice at the 11th edition of the event, from noon to 10.30 pm every day until Nov 12. Deepavali is on Nov 13.
The carnival is scheduled to be launched by Deputy Foreign Minister A. Kohilan Pillay tomorrow.
Chief executive officer and founder of Agenda Suria Communication Jaggarao Simancha said the carnival had over 250 stalls set up by exhibitors from
"We have 175 local and 75 foreign exhibitors and we also have entertainment and exciting activities fit for the entire family at night,” he said.
Jaggarao said the carnival, renowned for its Indian shopping lifestyle, had proven to be an efficient and profitable gateway to market and coordinate global demands for Indian lifestyle products and services.
"The main purpose of this carnival is to provide a single shopping platform for the people to buy Indian products. This year, we expect some 300,000 people to visit the fair with a total trade value estimated at about RM5 million," he said.
Last year, the Deepavali carnival was held at the KL Sentral open car park (former Sentral exhibition mall) in Brickfields.
Asked about the change of location, Jaggarao said: "Due to the constraint of exhibition space and also parking for the visitors, we decided to move our event to Bukit Jalil this year".
