Bumpy roads is not the cause of fatal accidents on LPT2 - Works Minister

A Works Ministry research revealed that bumpy and uneven road surfaces is not the cause of fatal accidents on the East Coast Highway (LPT2).
Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said that the fatal incidents that have claimed lives on the highway had occurred on a straight road where the surface is in good conditions.
The finding was obtained from a fatalities statistics with a profile test based on the International Roughness Index (IRI) conducted on the highway.
“The Ministry has matched the accidents statistics with the IRI values and found that these accidents occurred on a straight range with good road conditions.
The IRI test was conducted on 8 January, 2016.
Fadillah also advised road users to exercise caution and abide by all traffic regulations.
