A 29-year-old burglar, who is believed to have tried to escape via the balcony, slipped and fell off the ninth floor of Pangsaria Condominium, Taman Desa Petaling.
According to the Cheras district Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohan Singh Tara Singh, the suspect is believed to have tried to get into the neighbour’s house which was vacant through the balcony.
"The suspect panicked when he realised the owner came back after and tried to flee in which caused him to slip and fall on a vehicle," said Mohan.
Investigations revealed that the 29-year-old suspect took cash and some jewelry belonging to the owner.
Police also found several burglary tools such as screwdriver, spana and metal cutter in the suspect’s backpack.
The suspect, who suffered severe injuries on his head and several body parts, was sent to the National University Medical Centre (PPUKM) for treatment.
However, on the same day, a PPUKM medical officer confirmed the suspect died due to severe injuries.
