Businessman charged with alleged bomb threat directed at Firefly flight

A businessman was produced in the Magistrate's Court today on a charge of issuing a bomb threat directed at a
Firefly flight from the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang to Singapore two weeks ago.
Wong Choon Loong, 41, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read out to him before Magistrate Atiqah Abdul Karim alias Husain.
Wong was alleged to have issued the threat over the telephone that amounted to criminal intimidation at the Firefly airline customer service office at Citta Mall in Jalan PJU 1A/48 here at 7.36pm on May 17.
The charge, under Section 507 of the Penal Code, provides for a maximum two years imprisonment or a fine, or both, upon conviction.
Atiqah allowed Wong bail of RM8,000 in one surety and set June 28 for mention.
Wong was represented by counsel L.H. Yap while DPP Siti Fatimah Yahya appeared for the prosecution.
