KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced a Cabinet reshuffle, the first after one year of the Unity government.
Anwar said the reshuffle was aimed at making adjustments to meet current demands and conditions.
At the press conference to announce the line-up of the new Cabinet, Anwar, who retained the Finance portfolio, said the reshuffle was done as any change in the economic development and people's problems, including the cost of living, should be addressed promptly.
The restructured cabinet now comprises 31 ministers and 29 deputy ministers, a slight increase from Anwar's original cabinet of 28 members and 27 deputy ministers. This brings the total number of administrative members of the government to 60.
